CTRUS - Revolutionary Ball

   Technological advances aren’t common in soccer but seems that the agency AGENT wants’ to revolutionize the soccer world with CTRUS. CTRUS is a ball that has a reinforced elastic structure that eliminates the air needs, also have GPS and RFID chip embedded that measure the exact position of the ball, illuminates when touched and can make the soccer judge decisions easier.

   The technology don’t stop, the ball has in all it’s structure accelerometers that measure the power of the kick and the speed that it reach and also contain an embedded camera to film throw the ball perspective. Unfortunately this wonderful technology is just a prototype, but can serve as inspiration for new advances.

CTRUS - Bola Revolucionária

    Avanços tecnológicos no futebol não são tão comuns, mas parece que a agência AGENT quer revolucionar o mundo do futebol com CTRUS. CTRUS é uma bola que possui uma estrutura reforçada e elástica que elimina a necessidade de ar, possui GPS e chip RFID embarcados que medem a posição exata da bola, ilumina quando é tocada e pode facilitar as decisões do juíz de futebol.

   A tecnologia não para por aqui, a bola possue em toda sua estrutura acelerômetros que medem a força de um chute e a velocidade que ela atinge, além de tudo, contém uma câmera que pode filmar um lance na perspectiva da bola. Infelizmente esta maravilha tecnológica é apenas um protótipo, mas pode servir de inspiração para novos avanços.

Interactive Office Floor with Google Maps

   Currently is common to find buildings, addresses or houses at Google Maps, but if we go further and use this resource to know where a person is in a building?

   That already is possible with the Interactive Office Floor Plan Mapping Mashup. Click here to know more.

   Application test:
      1. Click in the field “Select an employee to find”;
      2. Choose a person (name);
      3. Click in “Find”;
      4. The person will be located on the map;
      5. Click in the icon indicating the selected person;
      6. Information’s about the person will be shown.

   This application already exists but is updated manually. And if again we go further and start thinking in use RFID tags to automatically update the information’s of the application and increase the office interactivity?

   Applications like that already are real like product/pallet tracking and trace in supply chain, maintenance and moving control of IT assets and item level tracking to avoid piracy.

Escritório Interativo com Google Maps

   Atualmente é muito comum localizar edifícios, endereços ou casas através do Google Maps, mas e se fossemos mais longe e utilizar este recurso para saber em que parte de um edifício está uma pessoa?

   Isso já é possível com o Escritório Interativo. Clique aqui para saber mais.

   Teste da Aplicação:
      1. Clicar no campo “Select an employee to find”;
      2. Escolher uma pessoa (nome);
      3. Clicar em “Find”;
      4. A pessoa sera localizada no mapa;
      5. Clicar no ícone indicando o nome da pessoa selecionada;
      6. Informações sobre a pessoa e localização serão informadas.

   Esta aplicação já existe, mas é atualizada manualmente. E se novamente fossemos mais longe e pensarmos em utilizar tags RFID para automaticamente atualizar as informações dessa aplicação e aumentar a interatividade do escritório?

   Aplicações como estas estão se tornando realidade, assim como por exemplo rastreabilidade e localização de produtos/paletes na cadeia logística, controle de movimentação e manutenção de ativos de TI e rastreabilidade a nível de item para evitar pirataria.

eID: Nova Identidade Alemã / New German ID

   A Alemanha irá utilizar a partir de novembro de 2010 sua nova identidade, o eID. De acordo com os pesquisadores do Fraunhofer Institute, o eID que possuirá RFID (leitura sem fio) e será utilizado para identificação eletrônica e funções de assinatura, podendo ser utilizado também em compras online, telefonia VOIP, jogos de loteria entre outras funcionalidade.

   Germany will start using at November 2010 the new ID card, the eID. According with Fraunhofer Institute researchers, the eID will have RFID (wireless reading) and will be used for electronic identification and signature functions, but also can be used in applications like online stores, VOIP, lottery and more.
